The John & Gloria Morrison Annual Golf Championship

Customers, vendor partners, employees, and friends came together for a memorable day at Meadow Brook Golf Course.

On Saturday, August 1st, customers, vendor partners, employees, and friends of Conveyors & Equipment gathered at Meadow Brook Golf Course for the annual John & Gloria Morrison Golf Championship.

And what a day it was!

We had a fantastic turnout for this year’s tournament, with a full field of golfers joining us for an early morning four-person scramble. Despite the Utah summer heat, there was no shortage of good golf, friendly competition, laughter, and plenty of refreshments to keep everyone going.

More Than a Golf Tournament

While we certainly enjoy a little competition, this tournament has always been about something much bigger than golf.

It is about relationships.

The John & Gloria Morrison Annual Golf Championship began years ago as a small company golf outing honoring our founders, John and Gloria Morrison. Over time, it has grown into one of our favorite opportunities of the year to bring together the customers, vendor partners, employees, and friends who have helped make Conveyors & Equipment what it is today.

Our customers were at the center of this year’s event.

We spend a lot of time throughout the year talking about conveyors, belting, equipment, projects, schedules, and solving problems. The golf tournament gives us an opportunity to put all of that aside for a few hours, get out on the course, and simply enjoy spending time together.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us.

The Awards

The competition is part of the fun, and this year’s championship gave us plenty to celebrate. In addition to the top three teams, we recognized individual performances and a few of the traditions that make this tournament uniquely ours.

Best Dressed was decided the only fair way we could think of – crowd applause!

The handmade tournament trophies lined up and ready for the winners.

Throughout the course, teams also encountered some of the traditions that make our tournament a little different, including our Mystery String Challenge, poker game, Speed Hole, and other opportunities to earn bragging rights. We finished the tournament back at the clubhouse with awards, prizes, and a raffle to send a few more people home as winners.

A Special Guest on the Course

Golfers were not the only ones making the rounds. One of the unexpected stars of the day was our resident Course Fox, who made several appearances along the edge of the fairways and seemed perfectly comfortable keeping an eye on the tournament.

Apparently the Course Fox found a pretty good spot to watch the championship.

We also want to recognize our President, Henry Morrison, for his continued support of the championship and of the traditions behind it.

As the son of John and Gloria Morrison, Henry continues the legacy they began when they founded Conveyors & Equipment in 1972. His support allows us to continue an event that carries their names while bringing together the customers, employees, and vendor partners who are part of the company today.

What began as a small company golf outing has grown into something John and Gloria would surely recognize: good people coming together, building relationships, and enjoying each other’s company.
